US Construction & Remodeling Corp. evaluated the unit, reviewed the repair and replacement paths, replaced the non-operating disposal, restored the under-sink drain connections, and checked the completed installation.

Diagnosis before replacement
A stopped disposal does not always require a new unit
The first step was to determine whether the disposal could be safely released and reset or whether the unit had reached the point where replacement was the practical path.
The service process included checking the overload reset and the manual release point on the bottom of the unit. When those steps did not restore normal operation, the replacement path was reviewed.
Safety around a jammed disposal
Do not place a hand inside the grinding chamber. Turn the unit off and arrange service when it hums, trips repeatedly, leaks, or remains stuck after a safe reset attempt.

The existing disposal was removed and the replacement was connected

Protect and access the cabinet area
The under-sink work area was opened so the unit and connected piping could be reached.

Disconnect the existing unit
The disposal and the required discharge and trap connections were disconnected for removal.

Install the replacement disposal
The replacement unit was secured at the sink connection and aligned with the existing under-sink layout.

Restore the drain path
The discharge and P-trap assembly were reconnected without opening the wall or removing the sink drain.

Check the completed installation
The unit and accessible connections were checked after the replacement work was complete.
Repair or replace?
The condition of the existing unit controls the recommendation
A jam caused by a removable obstruction or a tripped overload may allow a focused service correction. Replacement becomes the stronger choice when the unit remains seized, the motor does not recover, the body leaks, or the repair value no longer makes sense.
That decision is made after the unit, sink connection, power condition, discharge arrangement, and visible leak path are checked.
