Sacramento Sewer Repair Project

Sacramento Sewer Line Repair After Root Intrusion

Tree roots had entered a buried sewer connection and formed a dense blockage inside the line. US Construction & Remodeling Corp. opened the affected area, removed the section filled with roots, and installed a replacement section between the remaining pipe sections.

Project at a glance

A localized repair at a sewer connection affected by root intrusion

Condition found

A dense root mass had entered and obstructed the exposed sewer connection.

Work completed

The section filled with roots was removed and a replacement pipe section and connections were installed.

Project photographs

The obstruction, root mass, excavation, and installed replacement were photographed during the work.

Location

Sacramento, California.

What the excavation revealed

Roots had grown through the sewer connection

The opened pipe contained a compact root mass rather than a small amount of loose debris. Removing the affected section made the obstruction and the surrounding root conditions visible.

The right approach at another property depends on access, pipe condition, line location, and how much of the system is affected.

Dense roots at the opened connection showed why the line was obstructed.

Repair sequence

From localized access to a connected replacement section

1

Excavate and expose the affected connection

A localized excavation provided direct access to the buried pipe and surrounding roots.

2

Remove the obstructed material

The section filled with roots and the long root mass inside it were removed.

3

Install the replacement section

A replacement sewer pipe section was fitted between the remaining lines with new connections.

4

Photograph the installed connection

The replacement section was photographed with the excavation still open.

When a sewer concern needs evaluation

Repeated backups can point to a deeper line problem

Slow drains across several fixtures, recurring backups, sewage odors, or a blockage that returns after clearing can justify a closer look at the sewer line.

A repair recommendation should follow the actual condition of the pipe. Some problems can be cleared. Others require access and replacement of an affected section. A longer or more deteriorated line may need a broader scope.

Project specific scope

Access and pipe condition shape the work

Pricing depends on the location and depth of the line, the length of the affected section, excavation access, pipe material, nearby roots, and restoration needs. US Construction reviews the proposed scope and price before the customer authorizes the work.

Dealing with a sewer blockage that keeps returning?

This project documents one localized repair. If a sewer blockage keeps returning, call US Construction & Remodeling Corp. to discuss the symptoms and the next evaluation step. The photographs were taken during the work while the excavation remained open.
